Motivation
Due to the nature of removable appliances, patient compliance is essential. Therefore it is important for the patient and parent to be motivated as the system does require consistent daily use by the well-organised child. If motivation is a problem, it may be better to use conventional fixed brackets instead of the MYOBRACE.
Age Selection: Earlier Rather Than Later
The MYOBRACE can be used at any age in mixed or permanent dentition. The optimum age is during the eruptive and growth changes in the late mixed dentition (8 - 12 years).
The longer the permanent dentition is in place, the less effective the MYOBRACE will be. However, factors such as compliance, degree of myofunctional correction, and malocclusion all have an influence.
The application of the MYOBRACE will improve dental alignment and treat myofunctional habits. Results will vary and are age-specific. Therefore individual assessment is necessary, just as in all orthodontic treatment
Case Studies
Patients are welcome to look at before and after models on display to consider the results that can be achieved.
The photographs set out below are designed to provide an indication of what we believe we can achieve in our practice without the use of braces.
Please appreciate that everyone is different. We are not trying to represent that exactly these results can be achieved for your child, but our view is that these photographs will help you make an informed choice as to whether or not the No Brace Centre offers an alternative you would like to explore.
